Verify your Shop domain in Facebook Business Manager to market your products on Facebook and/or Instagram. Here we’ll show you how this works for a stand-alone Spreadshop or for a Shop integrated with your website.
Verifying a stand-alone Shop
Open Facebook Business Manager in your settings, click on “Brand Safety” , “Domains” and “Add” to enter your Shop URL. The Shop URL for your stand-alone Spreadshop is as follows:
Then you start the actual verification: Choose The “Add a Meta-Tag to your HTML code" option from the Facebook Business Manager. Then copy the alpha-numeric code (after "content").
Then go to your Shop Settings > Marketing > Facebook & Instagram and add the code to your meta-tag field. Done. Please note: It can take up to 72 hours until the changes are active.
Verifying an integrated Shop
When your Spreadshop is integrated within another website, copy the URL from the start page of your Shop of the corresponding website. The Shop URL for your integrated Spreadshop looks like this:
Now your Shop can be easily verified: Choose the option “Add a Meta-Tag to your HTML code” and follow the detailed instructions directly on your Facebook Business Manager page. Then add the meta-tag code to your website header and publish the change. Please note: It can take up to 72 hours until Facebook has verified it.
What’s the point of all this?
Once you’ve verified your Spreadshop in the Facebook Business Manager, you’ll have more features available to optimize your Shop. This includes easy, quick and convenient marketing and selling of your products using the product feed directly in your Facebook and Instagram. And tracking user behaviour in your Shop to help increase your conversion rates is made easy.
